専門
I specialised in historical sociology at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Tokyo, with sociology of education as my basic study. I wrote my master's and doctoral theses on the history of women's higher education in the pre-war period, and obtained my degree and doctorate (Education) (1999). My doctoral thesis was published as “Expansion of Women's Higher Education in the Prewar Japan: Dynamics of Government, School and Students (2002) with a publication grant from the University of Tokyo Press. Since then, I have conducted research on school culture, liberal arts education, family cultural capital, class and education in women' higher education and presented my research at conferences. In recent years, I have presented my work at the International Society for the History of Education and contributed to and reviewed papers in professional journals. I have also participated in joint research and seminars with Japanese and international educational historians, interacting with them and publishing my research findings.
