In this research, we propose a method of lecture content for pre-learning in which students voluntarily and interactively browse the content. We have developed a content and content viewer application for that purpose. In the proposed pre-learning content, learners read pages that combine slides and audio at their own pace. They can select and learn basic explanations and advanced explanations along the way. We also prototyped content with a teacher’s avatar and a function to display the text of the explanatory voice. In addition, the system records the browsing status page by page, which makes it possible to grasp the learning status in detail.

This research investigated how to support teachers in writing and updating their teaching portfolios(TP) in a long-term perspective. First, we related components of a TP to daily educational activities. Second, we listed up feasible ways of the support by considering preparations and tasks of updates with respect to each reason of the updates.
Based on the consideration, we proposed a tool to organize information of daily educational activities and implemented the tool as a web system using GAS(Google Apps Script). The tool has functions of reposition, retrieval, browse and e-mail reminder. We conducted trial uses of the tool.
The results suggested the following: (1)Describing educational activities at a detail level will be to clarify and organize teaching methods of the teacher.(2)Sharing of the descriptions among teachers will be helpful for their course design. These show that the tool may lead to awareness of the PDCA cycle of educational activities.

In this research, we investigated methods of the design and implementation of flipped mastery learning classes with a perspective of project management in the development of information systems in the two approaches. As a result of the first approach, we proposed LMBOK(Learning Management Body of Knowledge) based on PMBOK(Project Management Body of Knowledge). In the second approach, we proposed a method of learning management using the Gantt Chart and evaluated the method by conducting actual classes in a comprehensive upper secondary school. The practice showed the effectiveness of the proposed method. We also tried the introduction of gamification into the classes.

The project management class for the third-year undergraduates has been held in our university's information department. We found some problems in this class. One of the main problems is that the third-year undergraduate PMs (3yPMs) tend to decide specifications of the Web system without hearing opinions from the client. Moreover, at times they have been known to just ask the teacher to provide them with the answer.
This study aims to promote communication between the 3yPMs and the client so that 3yPMs exchange appropriate information with the client and understand the needs of the client. To address this issue, the role-playing situation and the communication support tool are introduced. These are expected to act as scaffolds for effective communication. It is effective that a teacher playing a client build the communication with the 3yPM positively.

This research investigated how to describe course design as “learning design” in order to share good practices of learning design among teachers. First, we defined necessary description items for other teachers to conduct their courses based on the course design description. Then we interviewed several teachers who had good practices and described their course design in the proposed form. The results suggested that the course design described in the proposed form were applicable to other courses. We also found that some elements beyond the course design such as the whole curriculum and utilization of teaching assistants have considerable effect on the success of the courses.

Investigations were conducted to both the faculty and the student. Education and qualitative requirements of teachers were more important and fundamental than relying on formal methodology such as core curriculum, to introduce actively critical thinking into classes. Teachers' questioning, recitation and showing related cases were deemed effective even without new knowledge, to encourage students' critical thinking. The remote-testing system that we suggested received a positive reputation from more than half of the students, even though some students felt the anxiety and the technical limitations.
The author summarized teaching critical thinking materials for teachers as a book. In addition, the author also arranged another text book to which students put together a collection of examples for other students to understand critical thinking. Taking advantage of knowledge obtained, the author's group has developed a card game "Naze Naze Carta", animation screen and web-teaching materials.

Development of Learning Management System to Support Exercise with Face to Face Group Discussion
作成日時 2011–2013
Offer Organization: Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, System Name: Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Category: Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C), Fund Type: -, Overall Grant Amount: - (direct: 4000000, indirect: 1200000)
To help students solve exercise problems, we introduced face-to-face group discussion during which each group member explains his or her own solution, and then all members explore a solution as a group. Improved motivation levels, and other beneficial effects, were observed in participants following their completion of discussion exercises. In this research, we developed a face-to-face group discussion support system (GDS), which cooperates with LMS of the university. GDS has functions of management of exercise problems and users, automated group generation, management of start and end time of group discussions, viewing the worksheet and entering feedback and so on. The results of the system's in-class trial suggested that it had several benefits.
